DSEI is firmly established as the leading international defence exhibition in the UK and Japan. With the launch of DSEI Germany, the portfolio will be expanded to include a European edition. The first event will take place from 9 to 12 March 2027 at Hannover Messe, one of the largest and most modern venues in the world.

DSEI Germany is aimed at a high-level international audience, including over 1,600 exhibitors, government delegations, national pavilions and companies from the traditional and non-traditional defence and security technology sectors.

 

Your tasks

  • Coordination of the international sales team: You will manage and motivate a global team of sales managers, ensure efficient co-operation and ensure the targeted implementation of sales strategies.
  • Acquiring and supporting international customers: You will actively acquire new customers from the defence, security and aerospace industries and maintain sustainable relationships with existing customers - from large defence companies to innovative suppliers.
  • Marketing stand space and sponsorship packages: You will be responsible for the targeted marketing of exhibitor space, premium placements and sponsorship and advertising opportunities to industry and government decision makers.
  • Development and implementation of sales strategies: Together with your team, you will develop targeted sales campaigns, develop customised offers for international customers and ensure their successful implementation.
  • Market analysis and competition monitoring: You will analyse market trends, competitor events and current developments in the defence sector in order to continuously improve the positioning of the trade fair.
  • Lead generation and business development: Working closely with Marketing, you will ensure effective lead generation and drive the expansion of the international customer portfolio.
  • Presentations and reporting: You create convincing sales pitches, reports and analyses for the management and present strategic sales approaches.
  • Liaising with internal stakeholders: You will work closely with the events and marketing team to ensure a smooth trade fair experience for customers.

 

Your profile

  • Degree in business administration, international business, marketing or a comparable qualification.
  • Several years of experience in international sales, ideally in the trade fair, aviation, defence or security industry.
  • Proven success in the acquisition and support of B2B customers, preferably in the defence or high-tech sector.
  • Leadership experience and the ability to coordinate and motivate international teams.
  • Strategic and analytical thinking with a strong understanding of market and competitive dynamics.
  • Very good communication and negotiation skills - in German and English (other foreign languages an advantage).
  • High level of initiative, persuasiveness and goal-orientation.
  • Willingness to travel to international trade fairs, conferences and customer meetings.
  • Experience with CRM systems (e.g. Salesforce) and MS Office.
